Cousin Cole and Phi Unit joined forces to show us a brand new side of moombahton – something they like to call Emoton. Culo and Phi describe is as the “softer, tissue friendly side of Moombahton. With heavy influences from tracks such as Munchi’s Hope and Dave Nada’s remix of Delorean’s Stay Close, we wanted to make an EP of emotional Moombahton: Emoton.”
So here we have So Emotional, a genius compilation of R&B and pop songs with that special moombahton touch from artists like Willy Joy, Nadastrom, David Heartbreak, and of course, Cousin Cole and Phi Unit. I’m slightly inclined to brand it as moombahpop, moombahsoul’s second cousin. Ya know, it’s kinda cute and something that’s totally edible for mainstream consumption.
